Of the main topics we study in mathematics, data is the most modern, and it is also the area where there are most jobs for people who have studied mathematics in detail. This is because all businesses and governments generate large amounts of data that they need to understand to improve their business (or country). As technology gets more sophisticated, the amounts of data only increase.
We will break our study of data up into three main areas.
