Transformations, or transformational geometry is a different way of thinking about shapes, that takes us from the traditional topic of geometry towards the university level topic of group theory, by looking at what happens when we change the position or orientation of shapes.

Vectors are introduced in relation to geometrical transformations, but will in later mathematics take on much more importance as an area of mathematics in their own right, and the most important geometrical language that is used in Physics (but not only in Physics).
