Geometry has been an important part of mathematics for more than 2000 years. It is much more than just accurately measuring things, although this is an important part of it and very necessary in many fields of life. But we are also interested in the properties of shapes and relationships between them. As we had towards higher mathematics, these properties will become more and more important to us in solving problems. Also, if we study Mechanics or Physics at A-level, we will be using lots of these properties directly to solve questions.
