The further mathematics course has 4 components, 2 of which are Pure Mathematics, and 1 each of Statistics and Mechanics.
To complete the A-level, all 4 need to be completed, whereas for the AS level it is only necessary to complete the first Pure Mathematics component and one of either Statistics or Mechanics.
