You might be surprised to hear that study of whole numbers (or integers) carries right on through university level and beyond. There is a whole area of mathematics, called number theory that looks exclusively at whole numbers and the patterns in them (such as prime numbers).

At this level we will consider four main topics within our study of whole numbers:

1.) Addition & Subtraction;

2.) Multiplication & Division;

3.) Squares, cubes, roots & indices;

4.) Multiples & factors.
