Remainder Theorem

Remainder Theorem: When polynomial p(x) is divided by x-t, the remainder is the constant p(t);

Remainder Theorem (extended form): When polynomial p(x) is divided by sx-t, the remainder is the constant p(t/s)

Worked Examples

  1. Find the remainder when 2x3-3x2+x-5 is divided by x-3;
  2. Find the remainder when x3-2x2+3x-5 is divided by 3x-1;
